Directions if your are entering Lake Placid on Route 73 North
If you are coming into town from NYC or the Boston area stay on Route 73 North and drive through the town. Take a Left at the first major traffic light onto Main Street and continue through town until you intersect with Saranac Ave. Take a Left onto Saranac Ave. and drive approximately 1/2 mile. Paradox Lodge is the green house on your right.
Directions if your are entering Lake Placid on Route 86 East
If you are coming from the Saranac Lake direction follow Route 86 East into town. As you enter Lake Placid Howard Johnsons will be on your left and approximately 1/4 mile beyond that, on the same side of the road, is Paradox Lodge.
From Boston, Springfield, Hartford
Take Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90) to Albany. Pick up I-787 north to Cohoes. Connect with Route 7 west to I-87 north. Follow I-87 (Northway) to Exit 30. Pick up Rt. 9 north and follow it for two miles to Rt. 73. Continue on 73 for 28 miles to Lake Placid area. Drive time from Boston: 5 hours.
From New York City and New Jersey
Take the NY State Thruway (I-87) north to the Adirondack Northway (Exit 24 in Albany). Follow 87 to Exit 30. Pick up Rt. 9 north and follow it for two miles to Rt. 73. Continue on 73 for 28 miles to Lake Placid area. From NYC: 5 hrs, Albany: 2 1/2 hrs.
From Montreal
Take Route 15 south to Champlain Crossing, connecting with I-87 south. Take Exit 34 west, following Route 9N, then follow Route 86 to the Whiteface Mountain/Lake Placid area. Drive time: 2 hours.
